A milestone and medical randoms

This may seem so small to many of you, but to me it is huge! It is a milestone we have waited for, since C was released from the NICU.

As of today, C has been released from the RSV clinic. He will still see the doctor that oversees the RSV clinic, but NO MORE SHOTS!

What does this mean? It means that they feel that C finally has the immune system of a typical 16 month old. It means that they feel like his lungs have matured enough that if he were to come into contact with RSV he would be able to fight it off on his own.

In other news.. C is still having issues with his ears. The doctor isn't sure what is going on. She said the one ear looks "funny" she can see fluid, and thickening of the ear drum. She said she could give him another antibiotic, and kind of went back and forth on it . Until I spoke up and said, at this point maybe tubes are the way to go? She did agree that there is something going on here, but she isn't sure what. If there is fluid the solution is tubes. The only issue we might have, he has only had 3 infections, they want to see 4 or more. BUT with C's speech delay it may be enough to get him in. Fingers crossed.

We spoke about the blue spells, while she agrees it is a temper tantrum, she does not think it is behavior. She feels like there is an under-lying issue that is causing the temper tantrums. Such as muffled sounds, pressure in the ear ect.

C's o2 stats, for the first time since C has been off the o2 I saw the greatest number 99%! That is right 99%, not too bad considering that C has a head cold.

In all, minus the tubes (which I am totally cool with, anything to help the little guy catch up) C is doing great.

so so glad he's doing well!!! & while the putting in of tubes may suck, if they help, it's so worth it!! he'll be much more comfortable, poor kid. & way to go on the o2 levels, C! :)

Yay! That's so exciting! Hopefully, you can convince the dr on the tubes!
